Weather: Guam

Like its neighbours in the northwest Pacific, US territory Guam keeps its eyes to the east during the summer and autumn. Few other parts of the world are at as much risk from typhoons. Many buildings are constructed like concrete bunkers to ensure that they last more than a few years. If you focus your trip on the first half of the year, you'll escape most of the typhoon risk. During winter, rainfall in Guam is more classically tropical – a shower every couple of days – and temperatures are balmy, a couple of degrees lower than in the summer.
